Gravity separation methods for treatment of the investigated material were applied. Two kinds of ground commercial products of size fractions: +0,1–0,5 mm (MS 500) and –0.1 mm (MS 100) with different contents of impurities were investigated. In the feed sample of size fraction below 0.1 mm, containing 0.9% Fe2O3, after treatment on shaking table this content was lowered to 0.4%. In the sample of size fraction of +0,1–0,5 mm, containing initially 0.4% Fe2O3, after treatment the enriched product assayed 0.25% of this component. It was found that the main carrier of ferric impurities (calculated on Fe2O3) in the investigated material is associated with pyrite. A gravity separation quantitative flowsheet for the investigated material is proposed.
